PRESENTERS Benjamin Keslowitz, FSA, MAAA REGISTER Registration deadline: November 5th, 2019 SESSION DETAILS / WHAT ATTENDEES WILL LEARN In this session, we will discuss what reinsurance is, what types of reinsurance exist, and the various benefits that can be generated through reinsurance. We will also discuss how cedents (the insurance companies entering into reinsurance arrangements) receive reserve credit from their regulators, and will touch on some of the key offshore jurisdictions that reinsurers are domiciling in, along with the reasons for these domiciling decisions. At the conclusion of the session, we will review a case study so that attendees can discuss practical ways that reinsurance is leveraged. Please click here to download the slides. TARGET AUDIENCE: Anyone interested in learning about reinsurance and how and why it is utilized by insurance companies. SUMMARY BIOGRAPHIES Benjamin Keslowitz is President and Actuary of Coeus Consulting LLC, a company that provides a wide range of actuarial services to insurers and reinsurers, private equity firms, and investment banks. Before setting up Coeus, Mr. Keslowitz held executive roles with Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Puerto Rico-domiciled reinsurance companies and completed and managed a wide range of multi-jurisdictional transactions in these roles. Prior to entering the reinsurance space, Mr. Keslowitz held several senior actuarial roles at MetLife, and created and headed Actuarial Audit at Prudential Financial. He has spoken at over ten industry meetings, published several articles in industry publications and has trained many NAIC regulators as a member of the SOA's LEARN Program. Mr. Keslowitz graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Actuarial Mathematics and Economics, he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
