Constitution and ByLaws of ASNY
CONSTITUTION OF THE ACTUARIAL SOCIETY OF GREATER NEW YORK
Effective September 1, 1932
As Amended August 17, 2005
ARTICLE I - NAME
The name of this organization shall be the ACTUARIAL SOCIETY OF GREATER NEW YORK, which shall be referred to in this Constitution and the Bylaws as "ASNY." ASNY was formerly known as ACTUARIES' CLUB OF NEW YORK and changed its name to ASNY effective October 29, 1987.
ARTICLE II - PURPOSES
The purposes of ASNY shall be
- to further the development of actuarial science and knowledge;
- to assist in the continuing education of its members;
- to hold meetings regarding matters of interest to members and which permit an interchange of ideas and good fellowship;
- to assist in the education of actuarial students in the greater New York area.
ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP
An actuary whose place of business or residence is in the greater New York area shall be eligible for membership in ASNY as provided by the Bylaws. Continuation and termination of membership in ASNY shall be as provided in the Bylaws.
