TARGET AUDIENCE: Actuarial professionals looking to learn more about mortality trends in the life insurance market.

With the increasing access to data and capability to leverage it, actuaries have an opportunity to extend the traditional analysis of mortality in the life insurance industry. The presenters will provide insights into term insurance mortality using reinsurance and industry experience.  The session will focus on analyzing the causes of death as a means to deepen the understanding of term mortality risk. We will discuss the data and methodology used for the analysis, along with results and findings. Among the topics covered include preferred class impacts and observations on post level period experience variation. The attendees and presenters will then brainstorm how to develop solutions and seek opportunities based on the findings presented. At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to understand the value of cause of death analysis and its applications.
